Tunic Dress

Regulation Hastings Girls' High School blue check dress with navy trim, low waistline, worn to knee length.
NB: The regulation dress with navy trim is the only acceptable dress for Year 9 and 10 students in 2009

Note: Uniform must be well maintained. Holes, rips and tears must be attended to immediately.

School sports shorts are available from the gym office. They may also be worn for physical education classes.

For physical education lessons, any appropriate clothing suitable for physical activity may be worn.

Year 13

This is decided upon annually by a student uniform committee. Details available from the school office.

General

Visible body piercing (including tongue studs) and tattooing is unacceptable

*

One plain pair of silver or gold studs may be worn in the bottom of the lower lobe - ie one earring per ear, and a wristwatch may be worn. These are the only two items permissible. No other items may be worn, including cultural items.

Hair ties must be navy or black. Hair clips must be plain black or plain brown only.

Hair is not to be worn, cut or coloured in extreme styles. Braids are not permitted. (The decision on extreme rests with the Principal)

No make-up or nail polish is to be worn

*

The school reserves the right to advise students when it considers that their appearance is unacceptable and not in compliance with the school uniform and dress codes.
