A taster subject to learn about and gain skills to use in the great outdoors. May include, ocean/river swimming, bush walking, orienteering, camping skills.
For students who don’t mind being challenged, getting dirty and learning about our local environments.
This elective will give students the opportunity to understand how your body works and to learn how to train it to be better. Not only does the course help you to improve physically but will also look at goal setting and how to be strong mentally.

Love singing or playing an instrument? In this course, you’ll grow your performance skills, both vocal and instrumental, while building confidence on stage.
You’ll have regular lessons with an itinerant music teacher to help you sharpen your technique and reach your goals. You’ll also get the chance to perform solo and as part of a group, learn new tricks and tips, and discover how practice and preparation pay off. Having at least a year of lessons already is ideal, as it sets you up to get the most out of the course.
Our introductory course explores Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga through the context of identity and tūrangawaewae.

This includes Voicework, Acting, Dance, Music and Te Ao Haka, as well as building on the skills of creativity, confidence and collaborating with others. Our Visual Arts curriculum is designed for everyone to develop their visual awareness and explore their passion and identity whilst learning new skills, developing existing skills and refining their art techniques to achieve goals.
You will gain a range of skills that will equip you for life and will help inform your future pathways and life choices, whether they be artistic or not. In this two part course you will get the opportunity to explore nutritional technology and digital technology.
In the nutritional technology part of the course you will explore the science of food and nutrition through hands-on learning. In the second part of the course you will focus on the digital world, building your digital literacy, learn to stay safe online, and become a responsible digital citizen.
In this hands-on course, you’ll explore design thinking and learn how to turn your ideas into real-world products using tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, textiles, hard materials skills.
