Term One Week 8
Attendance
As you are aware, attendance is a major focus this year. We will continue with texting and contacting you when students are away or late. With the increasing number of students that are late each morning, without an acceptable explanation, as a result we have decided to run an after school block from 3.15pm - 4.15pm. We will ring home and give you 24 hours notice so you can make alternative arrangements to pick your student up if required. Thank you for your help in getting students to school on time.
Teachers' Strike
It has been reported in the media that secondary schools around New Zealand will be holding strike action on Wednesday 29 March, however, at this time we can not confirm that our school will be closed on that day. We will be able to let you know on Monday what Hastings Girls' will be doing.
The Great Outdoors Hub
The two Exploring the Great Outdoors Hubs spent the day at Pourerere Beach on Tuesday. The girls found all sorts of creatures on the reef and can be counted on to save us all if we were stranded and hungry on an island!!
Level 2 Biology Trip
Our Level 2 Biology students spent the day on Monday at the rocky shore collecting data on the various species that live there. We saw many sea stars, crabs and anemones. We had a beautiful day with the sun shining!
Teacher Only Day
On Thursday 6 April we will be holding our planned Teachers Only Day. Our staff will all be offsite for training in the morning, therefore, the office will be closed from 8am until 1pm.
