Important: Student Devices in 2024 -
Bring your own device

Kia ora Koutou, please note that from 2024 we are unable to guarantee access to a computer for each learner every day. This means:

  • Learners need to invest in their own device for learning by the time they reach Year 11.

  • Our junior programme does not rely on devices but if you wish to purchase a computer for your learner you may do so.

  • You do not need to spend more than $1,000 on a device.

  • A 'device' is a laptop computer with a Microsoft Windows operating system NOT a Chromebook, iPad, other tablet, or Apple MacBook.

Harvey Norman are offering some device and support deals that may be worth checking out - please see the attached flyer for device details and this link for information on the support they can offer you: Harvey Norman Product Care

If you have any questions or concerns, please email pe@hastingsgirls.com

Free Period Products

We encourage parents, caregivers and students to come and take from our supply of free period products in the Student Centre. Take as much as you need for your household. Plan ahead and start stocking up for the next school holidays.

Changes to Footwear for 2024

From the start of 2024, Roman Sandals will no longer be part of the school uniform. Students will be required to wear plain black shoes. This change has come about due to changes to health and safety requirements in both Science and Technology.

If you are needing to purchase footwear this term then see below for examples of acceptable footwear. NB: No sports shoes, crocs, slides are acceptable footwear. Thank you for helping us uphold our uniform standards and more importantly the safety of our students.

Uniform Shop

The UShop will be open tomorrow at 10am - 1pm.

The Studio Hub

The Studio Hub walked down to Rautakauri Music Therapy Centre where they met with Ella, a music therapist. The students learnt the history of Dame Hinewehi Mohi starting the centre inspired by her own daughter and her namesake the atua of flute music Hinerautakauri. Students had the opportunity to have a "rumble" and conversation using various familiar and unfamiliar instruments.
