Merry Christmas

From all the staff at Hastings Girls' High we wish everyone Meri Kirihimetea. We hope you all find some special time to spend with whānau over the summer break.  We are excited for 2024, can't wait to welcome back our students and meet all our new students and their whānau at the pōwhiri on Wednesday 31 January. Please remember to keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages in January for start of the year information.  You can also visit our website and check out the 2024 school calendar. Our website also contains all of our enrolment information and forms.

Great Outdoors Taupō Trip

The two Exploring the Great Outdoors Hubs finished the year off with a trip to Taupō to conclude our study of lakes and rivers. We picnicked on the shore of Lake Taupō, we swam in the Waikato river and Otumuheke Stream (Spa Park Hot pools) and spent a morning at the AC baths too. The pool at the holiday park was also a highlight!

An awesome way to end the year with a primo bunch of girls.

Condors Sevens Tournament

Congratulations to our Sevens team that placed 3rd overall at the Condors U16 Tournament this week in Mt Maunganui. We are so proud of the team and their achievements. A huge thank you to our coaches for their support and dedication this season!

HGHS Poirewa Junior Volleyball

Ka mau te wehi Poirewa !!!

Junior A and Junior B finished in 2nd place this year in Hawke's Bay Division 1 and 2 with hard fought finals against Karamu and Hastings Christian School.

What an awesome way to end an awesome year of sport.

Uniform Donation

We are always on the look out for spare uniforms to help support our school community in times of need or when there are accidents. If you are willing to donate a uniform, it would be gratefully received. Please drop donations into the Student Centre before Thursday 14 December.

Reminder - Changes to Footwear in 2024

From the start of 2024, Roman Sandals will no longer be part of the school uniform. Students will be required to wear plain black shoes. This change has come about due to changes to health and safety requirements in both Science and Technology.

If you are needing to purchase footwear this term then see below for examples of acceptable footwear. NB: No sports shoes, crocs, slides are acceptable footwear. Thank you for helping us uphold our uniform standards and more importantly the safety of our students.
