Swimming Sports
Our school swimming sports day is on Friday 26th February. This is a fun and competitive House event in which all girls can compete. There are races for competitive swimmers and fun races in which all can get involved in. Girls will need to bring togs, towel, sunscreen and water. Please note that lunch is provided. Girls do not need to bring money. The weekend is a good opportunity for the girls to look through their wardrobes for fun things to wear in their house colours.

If you have ordered your school photos but have not yet paid, please ensure that this is done by Monday. Last orders will be taken on Monday, and will require full payment.

Costs for photos are as follows:
Class photo $14.00
Laminated ID card $7.00
Informal Year 13 photo $14.00
Formal Year 13 photo $14.00
The ID card is optional but is strongly recommended for all bus students, senior students or any other student who requires proof of age or identity.

12 3145 0140200 00. Please make sure to put your daughter’s name as the reference for the payment. If you don’t use internet banking, payment can be made to the Student Centre office. If you have credit in your daughter’s school account and wish to use this to pay for your photographs, please indicate below.

Drop off / Pick up Zones
Recently we have become increasingly concerned about the safety of our students, staff and young children at the neighbouring kindy, due to the amount of cars travelling in and out of our carparks, and the speed at which they are travelling. Please note that visitor and staff carparks are off limits for Pick ups and Drop offs and that the bus bay needs to be kept clear. For this reason, as of Monday 22 February, we will be chaining off the entrances to the school carparks between 2.30pm - 3.30pm each day.

Alert Level 1
It is expected that at Alert Level 1 all students will be at school. If you or a member of your household at quarantining please notify the school.
Reminder to Students
Please wear your uniform with pride. Students are not permitted to leave the school at lunch time, unless you are in Year 13 and then must sign out at the Student Centre. Bought lunches must not be dropped off at school as school lunches are supplied.
Junior HUB Overnight Stay at Marae
Our 3 Junior Hubs are going on an overnight EOTC trip to Hinetemoana Marae in Waimārama. Ngaio Hub leave on Monday and arrive back Tuesday, Tītoki Hub leave Tuesday and arrive back on Weds, Mānuka Hub are leaving on Weds and arrive back Thursday. Girls may go home when they return to school.

Note: this tournament will determine who qualifies for the Ki o Rahi National Secondary Schools Championship which will be held in Waitangi, Bay of Islands, 21-23 April 2020. Our Akina team consists of HGHS & HBHS students.

HGHS Board of Trustees
