Ākina Group Photos

Due to the number of staff and students away this term, we have made the decision to postpone the rest of the photos until Term 3. Obviously this isn't ideal, but we really don't want anyone to miss out, especially our Year 13s.

Concussion Management Guidelines at HGHS

Here are the presentation slides from the recent online Concussion Management session with New Zealand Rugby Union. The purpose of the Concussion Management Guidelines is to provide school staff, coaches, parents/caregivers, and medical personnel with information on concussion management within a school setting. The aim is to ensure that all students who sustain concussion are well managed in their return to learning and activity. HGHS is currently participating in a Pilot project to introduce concussion guidelines within the school (including injuries across all sports, and non-sporting activity (accidents, etc). This will ensure that suspected concussions incurred by students can be managed in a consistent and appropriate way. The project is being delivered in partnership between New Zealand Rugby, University of Otago and Auckland University of Technology (AUT).

Congratulations

Congratulations to the following HGHS students on their successful selections and involvement for the Hawke's Bay Volleyball representative teams that played at the New Zealand Inter-Provincial Championships 2022 in Wellington. Thank you for representing your school, your families, and our region.
